Ark-AHEAD is an organization for professionals dedicated to improving access for people with disabilities in postsecondary education settings in Arkansas.
The Arkansas Association on Higher Education And Disability (Ark-AHEAD) plays a vital role in the provision of professional development and networking opportunities. We strive to respond to scholarly understandings of disability, the changing legal landscape, and the needs of professionals for guidance in translating knowledge into good practice.
Employees and students from all postsecondary schools (public, private, four-year, and two-year) are invited to join. Other agencies and organizations who work with people with disabilities are also welcome. Ark-AHEAD members unite in striving for a positive educational experience for all students with disabilities.
Each year Ark-AHEAD offers meetings, workshops and conferences which allow members to collaborate with both local resources and renowned experts on disability-specific topics, accommodations, assistive technology, disability law, policies and procedures in higher education and other critical issues in our profession.
